Monique Jansen
Monique is an artist currently based in Vernon, BC. She just moved here from The Netherlands, where she was a resident artist at the NDSM Treehouse in Amsterdam.
Monique loves to paint in different mediums, even though currently she mainly uses oils, for still lifes and abstracts.
Besides that, she makes encaustic paintings: she paints with a mixture of beeswax and damar resin. The mixture is heated up and then applied to a cradle board.
Her inspiration comes from the Dutch weather (dark days, rain and reflections), the underwater world and the stunningly beautiful Canadian landscape.
Monique exhibits regularly and her work can be found in private collections all over the world.
