I love everything about the art world. Not just the process of creating my own treasures but the people and environment we artists share. I am very committed to my work and the art community and contribute hours helping with the development and growth opportunities available to my friends and fellow artists. I'm a past President of the North Okanagan Chapter of Federation of Canadian Artists and a past member of the Arts Council of the North Okanagan and a member of the Society of Canadian Artists.
When I get in the zone and paint I’m totally immersed in the moment and lose many hours unaware of my surroundings focused only on my canvas, the marks I make and the feelings they evoke. When the painting is finished I’m exhausted and usually covered in paint - but exhilarated. The process is for me as natural as rain and nothing I’ve done before at work or play compares to the fulfillment each completed painting gives me...and I'm grateful for the visceral responses people have to my work.
My paintings have been recognized and accepted in National and International juried shows, and can be found in private collections and commercial galleries across Canada, and the United States.
