LINDA HUNT
I began painting in watercolors in the fall of 2006. I love the freshness and transparency of the paint, and the bright colors one can achieve on paper. I also enjoy the challenges and the surprises the medium can bring.
For the past several years, I have been working mostly in oils. The medium offers its own freedom to explore color and texture as vibrant and exciting as my own imagination.
Much of my work has been a reflection of scenes and flora in the Vernon area. As I explore the Okanagan Valley I am inspired by the colors, textures and the play of light and shadows in the landscape and sky. I love to paint the detail that nature provides whether it is in flowers in the garden and hillsides or textures on the woodland floor. To me, nature is God’s art and if I can capture His light and life in my paintings, then I have achieved my goal.
