Kate Tooke is an award-winning oil painter dedicated to capturing an intimate connection with the animal subjects she paints. For Kate, a successful work goes beyond the technically competent depiction to create a relationship, even if it’s just a brief moment, between the seer and the seen.
Kate shares her life with with her husband, dogs, cats, horses and chickens in beautiful Vernon, BC. With their three kids grown and left home, she is committed to daily painting and continuously learning from inspiring artists and honing her craft. Kate was juried into Associate Signature Member status with the Federation of Canadian Artists in 2023.
