​Barry Rafuse specializes in mixed media. He has a loose, aggressive painting style and is strongly biased to abstractions. His brush strokes, pastel markings and texturing techniques produce motion in his work. The many forces of nature heavily influence him.

Barry says “Painting is a great outlet for me”. Barry likes to combine materials because there is the added challenge of mastering medias, such as oil sticks, oil pastel crayons and acrylic paint. He has always been attracted to nature’s designs and landforms, moving towards abstraction of these elements.

Since 1990 Barry has been in numerous juried shows and has had many solo shows around B.C. He has received many awards, and his works are also found in many private and public collections in Canada and abroad.
