BERYL GOODALL
1932 - 2024
In Loving Memory
Our friend, and long time FCA member, Beryl Goodall, passed away December 18, a week short of her 92nd birthday. She was born on Christmas Day in 1932 in Yorkshire, England, where she spent her childhood. After graduating from school she went to teachers’ college in London where she also taught. She and her husband, Geoff, emigrated to Canada in the early 1960s and the family eventually settled in Vernon where Beryl became a much loved grade 2 teacher and student teacher mentor.
Beryl joined the local North Okanagan FCA in the late 1990s and almost immediately became president of the Chapter. She remained in that position for about the next 11 years and continued to volunteer until ill health curtailed much of her involvement. During that time her quiet, sincere demeanour earned respect and love from all and her leadership ensured that the Chapter still continues to flourish. She will not be forgotten.
She was interested in art from an early age and became an accomplished artist, initially working primarily in watercolour and pastel and later adding acrylic to her repertoire.
She was predeceased by her husband, Geoff, and two daughters, Karen and Wendy.
