Painting has been a lifelong occupation for me, starting with an honorable mention in the Toronto Exhibition in grade 6. My love of art turned into an art teaching career for 26 years. Continuing to hone my skills, I now devote my time to painting landscapes and the creatures and objects that can be found in nature. I paint in acrylics, looking for the moments in light, trying to capture the essence of my subjects. I bring them to life to remind us of our link to nature.
I have a Fine Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba and a teaching certificate from Simon Fraser University as well as a Diploma in Art Education from the University of British Columbia. I taught Art for 26 years in a Junior High School. After teaching I have joined the Federation of Canadian Artists and have taken many workshops to build on my painting skills.
I have shown in several shows with the Federation in Kamloops BC and Kelowna. I have shown in many galleries, both in British Columbia and Alberta. I am presently showing in the Court Yard Gallery in Enderby BC, and in Armstrong BC.
