Artist's Bio
My given name is Elyse Curial; Elysée is the artist name - my creative persona - that I
sign onto my work. I paint using water media, primarily in acrylic medium.
I was born in Edmonton, Alberta into a large French family and was raised on an acreage outside the city. I can remember appreciating and critiquing art from a very young age. Despite having no formal art education, I began painting in 2016, spending many hours experimenting in my home studio, and participating in several in-person workshops taught by renowned master artists. My journey has been an exhilarating mix of self discovery and stylistic evolution. I am continually inspired by nature, my travels, and the people I meet along the way .
I am an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and its North and Central Okanagan Chapters. I have exhibited in public venues in Vancouver, Kelowna and Vernon BC. My art can be found in public and private collections throughout Canada, the U.S. and U.K.
